Feb. 12 at 2:25 p.m.: Officers responded to a possible marijuana possession charge at M Street. A Resident Assistant stated that he was going to room to room offering free condoms to students as part of a safe sex awareness activity. The RA stated that when he approached the room, one of the residents said he should open the door and throw his roommate a condom.
The RA stated that he opened the door, threw the resident a condom and noticed a “line of marijuana” spread out on the desk. As he was leaving, the second resident told the RA “that’s not what you think it is.” The RA then notified public safety regarding the matter and noted that as he left, the first resident was banging on the door asking to be let in. Officers arrived and entered the room with consent from the first resident. The first resident spontaneously opened an altoid tin containing marijuana. The marijuana and a fixed blade knife discovered during a search of the room were taken to the public safety office.
